Woot! This week turned out to be better than I thought. The only changes I made was less bread and sugar intake and it seriously paid off. The only thing I need to remember to do is more movement because my muscle mass went down a bit. But I am loving going through this process because I am learning so much about myself and how I work. And by having this knowledge will help me here in the future, especially when I'm married because I can teach my kids and my husband and we can work together on being healthy together.

Weight: 170lbs
Fat %: 33.5%   I still have .6% left to go
Muscle Mass: 107.2lbs
Fat Mass: 57lbs    I still have 1lb left to go
Degree of Obesity: 28.6%

June 9, 2016

Oh my goodness! I just want to come out today and share something wonderful to me that I did yesterday.

So one of the goals that I have right now is to manage my self control, especially with sugar cravings. Here at work I am at a desk with a computer for 8 hours a day and my cravings can get a little out of control. People bring food to share all the time, and sometimes they almost expect you to eat it and eat it all. And it doesn't help that the vending machines here take debit/credit cards, like that awesome and super convenient, but for me it's not. And they have all the delicious easy foods that we would normally want, like peanut M&Ms or strawberry Poptarts.

Well yesterday I decided that I was only going to eat the food my dad packed for me, which consisted of a PPJ sandwich, an apple, carrots, and a bag of tortilla chips. So all that needed to last me 8 hours. Well it got to the point that I had finished my lunch, I still had two and a half hours left and I remembered the Buncha Crunch bags in the vending machine... Yes I know it's Crunch chocolate, but these little bites are actually really good!... But I knew I needed to keep myself in my seat and drink my water, which did help. I also kept telling myself there was probably something at home I could have once I was done that would be better and free, which I was right (a Dairygold white cheddar cheese slice and almonds :)).

So I went for the rest of my shift full on water, but also satisfied with myself. I was satisfied because I was able to control myself when before I would try doing that and I would just so happen to take my phone on a bathroom break and the breakroom is right there. So I'd make a vending machine stop. And now I know that I can get through 8 hours without spending an extra dollar on something that's just going to go right to my gut and I had something that tasted better and is better for me. But I also can go with the satisfaction that I didn't make a selfish decision. The other day my fiancĂ© and I joined bank accounts and we have realized that money is going to be a big struggle for us for a couple of months, like with all newly married couples. And I don't want to be the one that creates a bigger problem before we're even married. And so I'm glad with wheat I did yesterday because I didn't spend a dollar of our needed money on a seconds amount of satisfaction, but now I have a greater satisfaction that I can do something right. And that's much better than a bag of Buncha Crunch ;)

June 3, 2016

I learned a lot this week, about myself and also other things that hopefully will help me during this whole process.

This week wasn't the best week on me. There has been more stress put on me with the wedding prep and I've come to realize how much stress can effect your overall health. It effects your sleep, your mood, and your relationships. I have not had a decent nights sleep for about two weeks, due to nightmares and body pains, and I wake up with more body pains... I've never been this stiff. But then also having so much to do with so little time, and work all day the next day, I'm not getting enough sleep either. And with no sleep and stress on top of that during the day I get cravings. Like MAJOR cravings. And they're always for the fatty, sugary good things. But knowing these things are good because now I know how my body works when it's in survival mode. It wants easy, desirable foods to fulfill it's needs and I've been doing it for so long that my will isn't that strong to say No! I'm wanting that to be one of my goals this week: To know when I go into this mode and know that it's just my body demanding something it doesn't need and to substitute it for something better.

But I also learned about an awesome instrument that we have at work. We have one of those TANITA weight scales and it is one of the coolest things because not only calculates your weight, but it also measures your fat %, muscle mass, water weight, and a bunch of other things. But I've never really understood everything else that is measured. But today someone finally explained what everything means and I've finally learned where exactly I am as far as my health. The past few times I have weighed myself the scale always came up with being on the obese side. Now it says I'm solidly built. Now I also understand how much I need to weight and fat % I need to be at a desirable place.

Well that goes to my goal for now. My fiancé claims that he's going to lose 8lbs before the wedding (two weeks away) and he thinks that I can do it too. I'm sure I could but I'm worried about my dress and other things, but also with my history of trying to lose weight in a short period of time. It's never worked for me so I have no idea if it would work for me or not anyway. So instead of worrying about a specific weight loss goal I'm going to work on getting to my desirable place. So here are my results and my goals for the next two weeks:

Weight: 174.2lbs (Ideal: 132.2lbs..... That seems a little low to me but okay....)
Fat %: 34.5% (Ideal: 21-32.9%) I will work towards 32.9% by the wedding
Muscle Mass: 108.4lbs
Fat mass: 60lbs (Ideal: 30.4-56lbs) I will work towards 56lbs by the wedding
Degree of Obesity: 31.8%
